Introducing Baxter, an 18 month old Cross breed who arrived into our care as a stray.
On arrival, Baxter was incredibly nervous of everything, including his own shadow. Although friendly, he lacked confidence and it took time, patience and plenty of treats for the kennel staff to build a trusting relationship with him.
As time has gone on, Baxter has become slightly more confident when interacting with other people. Having said that, he can still be wary in some situations and will jump at sudden movements and unfamiliar sounds.
When out on his daily walks, Baxter walks nicely on the lead. He loves to explore and will take his time sniffing everything that takes his interest.
When meeting other dogs, Baxter displays a slightly more confident demeanour and is happy to greet each dog with a wagging tail and plenty of sniffing. He becomes playful & bouncy and thrives on the attention.
Baxter is looking for a patient and understanding owner who is committed to investing the time in confidence building. He is unable to live with children under 16 years of age and cannot live with cats.
Applicants much take into consideration that due to Baxter’s nervous nature, he will require several visits here at the home before the adoption can take place.
If you feel you have the time to devote to Baxter in order to show him the world isn’t such a scary place, please fill in an application form.
