The levels of dogs in our care have significantly increased this year so we are in need of volunteers that are able to walk the dogs, please note these dogs are rescue dogs and will have all different walking and playing styles. As well as being a mix of Small – Large breeds therefore it is quite a physical aspect to the role which is something to consider before applying.
As a volunteer you will become part of the team and this means you will assist the staff with some of the housekeeping duties such as cleaning, washing up bowls and ensuring the dogs have fresh and clean bedding. This is to help the Dogs Home keep clean and tidy.
Kennel buddying is great for volunteers to help us out with dogs who are wanting that extra bit of affection or are getting stressed in the kennel environment. As part of this role you may be asked to brush/groom the dogs as well as handle them which is something to consider before applying.
We are always in need of volunteers to help at events each year both on our premises and representing the Home at other venues such as Crufts, Dog Fest, Cheshire County Show amongst many more! Some events involve running a stall with merchandise, a raffle or a tombola. Some events we just need helping hands and people who are happy to represent our charity.
