This handsome boy is Scout!  He has had a difficult start in life after being found dumped in a cage with 2 other dogs.  Despite everything he has been through, he is beginning to show what a lovely little character he really is.  When meeting new people, he can be very nervous and tends to be quite vocal.  He needs time to build trust and feel safe in unfamiliar situations.  However, once he has got to know you, his sweet and affectionate nature shines through.  Like many young dogs that have missed out on important early experiences, he can become a little over excited and can be nippy when jumping up for attention, ongoing training and clear boundaries will help him learn more appropriate ways to interact.  Initially he was very scared of the lead, but with gentle encouragement and patience he is making good progress when out on walks. He will need a home committed to continuing his confidence-building journey and helping him learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. He is looking for a calm, patient home that understands nervous dogs and is willing to give him the time to settle in.  In return, you will gain a loyal, affectionate companion who simply wants to feel safe, loved and part of the family.  He would benefit from a private secure garden so he can safely have some off lead time.

He has socialised well with other dogs whilst in our care, so we feel, following a successful meet and greet he could possibly live with another small dog.

As Scout can be very nervous and unsure we would like any children in the home to be 14+ years.
