Meet Reggie!  Reggie is a handsome young boy with a big personality and plenty of character!  Reggie is a friendly boy who enjoys interaction and playtime, but he is also a strong-minded lad who will need an experienced owner who understands his breed and can provide clear boundaries, consistency and guidance.  Reggie can become nippy when excited or overstimulated, so his new home will need to be mindful of his arousal levels and understand how to manage and redirect this behaviour appropriately.  He is also very vocal during play, so don’t be surprised if he has plenty to say!  He has some quirky behaviours too.  He loves chasing the hosepipe while staff are cleaning his kennel and can get quite enthusiastic and does rag his bedding.  His new adopter will need to show him how to channel that frustration.  Reggie can be quite dominant and has previously shown some possessive behaviour around his bed, standing over it while staff have attempted to move it.  He also displays some unusual body language at times, although he has been ok with staff during his time in our care.  We are looking for an experienced, confident and patient owner who can recognise and understand his body language, respect his boundaries and work positively with him to help him develop good manners and appropriate behaviours.  Reggie is still a young dog with lots to learn, and with the right home, consistent handling and ongoing training, we know he can continue to make progress.  He isn’t going to be the right match for everyone, but we believe the right person will see the lovely character behind this cheeky little Frenchie.  He will need a private secure garden.

Reggie has interacted with other dogs while in our care and is very humpy with them so we feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home.

As Reggie came into the home as a stray, we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 16+ years.
