This handsome boy is Ranger!  He is guaranteed to bring fun, energy and plenty of personality into his new home.  Affectionately known by the staff as their ‘Social butterfly’ he loves meeting new people and is always ready to make new friends wherever he goes.  He is a friendly, giddy and playful boy who approaches life with enthusiasm.  His excitement can sometimes get the better of him, and he can be quite boisterous, often jumping up to greet people.  Ongoing training and consistent boundaries will help him learn more appropriate ways to say hello.  Like many hounds, he is very vocal in his kennel and isn’t shy about letting everyone know he’s there! He thrives on interaction and enjoys being involved in the action, so will need a very active home.  Potential adopters should be aware that he may display typical hound traits like unreliable recall and great at escaping so he will need a private secure garden and careful management when outside of the house.  He is also very strong on the lead and will benefit from continued lead training and handlers who are confident managing a powerful dog.  This lad is full of energy and would suit an active home that can provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and opportunities for adventure.  He’ll make a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys an outdoor lifestyle and is prepared to continue his training.  In return, you’ll gain a fun-loving affectionate character with a huge zest for life and enough enthusiasm to keep a smile on your face every day.

Ranger has socialised well with other dogs whilst in our care although he can be very full on with them and extremely playful.  We feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where he can get 100% of the training he needs.

As Ranger came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 12+ years.
