Meet Onion!  Onion is a very special boy who has come such a long way since arriving in our care.  He was extremely nervous when he first came to us and was too frightened for us to enter his kennel, often retreating to the back and growling out of fear.  With time, patience and gentle encouragement, onion has slowly started to show us the lovely dog hiding underneath.  True to his name, Onion has layers.  The more time you spend with him, the more of his wonderful personality shines through.  Once he trusts you and he gets out of his kennel, he completely transforms.  He becomes affectionate, loves climbing on your lap for cuddles, enjoys playing with his toys and is even quite vocal when he is happy.  He has also been fantastic with other dogs he has met whilst in our care.  Onion is looking for a calm, patient home with owners who understand that building trust will take time.  He will need several meet and greets to help him feel comfortable before going home, and his new family must be committed to helping him continue to overcome his fear of new people.

Home requirements:

Children aged 16+ years

No cats

Only dog home

Patient, understanding owners willing to let Onion progress at his own pace. Watching Onion gain confidence has been incredibly rewarding, and we know that with the right family he will continue to blossom into the amazing companion we know he can be.
