Introducing Kim, an Alsatian cross who originally arrived into our care as a stray.
Kim did go out to a home but unfortunately has recently been returned to us.
On arrival, Kim was nervous of the kennel environment and initially the staff were unable to interact with her as she chose to stay at the back of her kennel, clearly displaying trust issues. After a couple of days, Kim was found stood at the front of her kennel with her tail wagging and was jumping up for a fuss.
Since then, Kim has interacted with a number of different staff members and has enjoyed being stroked and receiving plenty of attention. She knows her basic commands and is a fast learner.
Due to her new found confidence, Kim was taken for a short walk and showed just how much she loves the great outdoors. She is eager to walk and get very excited, often pulling on the lead which is something her new owner must be mindful of.
Whilst out on her daily walks, Kim has met a number of our other dogs. She has displayed a playful nature with those she has interacted with, play bowing, sniffing and wagging her tail. However, after going to a home with another dog, it has become apparent that Kim likes to be the centre of attention and enjoys her own space. She loves her meal times and prefers to not have to share her food.
Kim is looking for a committed owner who is able to provide her with ongoing training and socialisation. Kim needs to be the only dog in the household, with children in the home being over the age of 14 years and she is unable to live with cats.
