Meet this bundle of energy Athena!

Athena came into our care as a stray and was in a bad condition. She was severely underweight and her coat was in a bad condition too. Even after this she has always been a very sweet and friendly girl. Athena loves her food and has put the weight on quickly so is now a healthy weight. Her coat is growing back nicely too.

Athena gets very excited when meeting members of staff or volunteers here at the home. She is a sociable girl who wants to say hello to everyone she meets, she can get over excited and jumps up for a fuss. She loves cuddles and to give out kisses to everyone!  She has a lot of energy and loves nothing more than being off lead in our enclosed area zooming around. As a lurcher she has a high prey drive so can pull on a walk, especially when she sees wildlife. She could benefit from some basic training so she can learn how to behave appropriately in different situations.

Athena loves every dog she meets and is always super happy to say hello and play with any dog she sees!  She has interacted very well with dogs here so we believe that she can be rehomed with another dog of similar size and energy levels – Subject to a successful meet.

We believe that Athena could be rehomed with children that are over 12 years of age- subject to a successful meet.  She is a bouncy excitable dog though, so any children must be confident around dogs. Athena would benefit from an active household who want to take her on lots of adventures.

Due to her breed we believe it would be best for Athena not to be rehomed with cats or any other small furries.

Please don’t apply for a dog if you are going on holiday within the next 3 months.
