Meet Oscar!  He is looking for a patient and understanding home.  When he first came into our care, he was extremely timid and nervous, finding the world quite overwhelming.  Since settling in, he has made wonderful progress and has really started to show his sweet nature.  Once he trusts you, he is a very friendly and affectionate little companion who enjoys being close to his people.  He can still be sensitive to sudden movements and unfamiliar situations, so he will need continued socialisation and reassurance to help build his confidence.  Because of this, he would be best suited to a calm, quiet home where he can be given the time and space to settle at his own pace.  In kennels he can be quite vocal and does struggle with being left alone, so his new family will need to be prepared to work patiently on his confidence and independence.  A home where someone is around for much of the day, at least initially would suit him best.  Despite his nervous start, he is a loving little dog with so much potential, and with kindness, patience and understanding , he will make a devoted companion. He will need an experienced home and isn’t a dog for a first time dog owner.

As Oscar came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him and as he can be quite timid and nervous we would prefer any children/visiting children in the home to be 14+ years.

Oscar has socialised with other dogs whilst in our care but he does prefer his own space so for this reason we would like him to be the only dog in the home.
