Meet Benji!  Benji is a lovely boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart.  He is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who absolutely loves attention.  If there’s a cuddle going, Benji wants to be involved!  He loves fuss, affection and being around people, and he is a boy who really wants to learn, please and do well.  And treats ? well…. Benji is definitely a fan.  He is very excitable, giddy and full of energy, and his new family will need to be prepared for the time, patience and commitment that comes with raising an energetic puppy.  He does need continued training on his lead.  He does jump up a lot when he wants attention, his new adopter will need to help him understand that all four paws on the floor gets him attention.  Benji does bark when the staff leave his kennel and will whine for a while after, so he will need help learning that being alone is okay. Benji will need an active family where he can continue his training and socialisation and get plenty of appropriate mental and physical stimulation.  He isn’t a dog who can simply be left to entertain himself all day.  His new adopter needs to be ready for the training, the patience, the puppy chaos, the energy, house training and all the hard work that comes with raising a young puppy.  Benji will need a private secure garden.

Benji has socialised well with other dogs while in our care, and is very excitable and giddy with them.  We do feel he could potentially live with another dog that would tolerate his constant need to play, following a successful meet and greet. (must be neutered).

Please only apply for Benji if you have the time, patience and commitment he needs.

We are unsure how he would react around cats.

As Benji came into the home as a stray, we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.

If you have a holiday booked in the next 3 months, please wait until you return to apply for a dog.

*Applications that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge.
