Meet the lovely Lucy! When Lucy first arrived with us, she was a very nervous girl and understandably needed some time to settle.  We are so pleased to see how far she has come.  With patience, kindness and reassurance, Lucy has slowly gained her confidence and is now showing us what a sweet, gentle and incredibly friendly little girl she is.  Lucy absolutely loves a fuss and enjoys saying hello to people she knows.  Once she trusts you, she is a calm and affectionate companion who just wants to be close to her people.  She has such a lovely nature and is a real pleasure to spend time with.  Lucy is still a little nervous around loud or unexpected noises, so her new adopter will need to understand that she may take some time to fully settle and feel secure in a new environment.  She will need someone who can give her the time, patience and encouragement she needs to build her confidence at her own pace.  In our secure compound, Lucy is happy to have some off-lead time.  She isn’t particularly interested in toys – she’s much more of a sniff-and-explore kind of girl! She enjoys wandering around, taking everything in and have a good old sniff.  Lucy really is a super-friendly, calm and gentle girl with so much love to give.  We are looking for a patient and understanding home where Lucy can continue to blossom.  She would benefit from a private secure garden.

Lucy has interacted with other dogs while in our care, with some she is happy to have a sniff and interact and others she can be very unsure of, so we feel she would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where her new adopter can continue to work on her confidence around other dogs in a controlled environment with lots of positive reassurance.  This must be done at Lucy’s own pace.

As lucy came into the home as a stray, we have no previous history on her and as she can still be a little timid we would like any children in the home to be 14+ years.
