Meet this handsome boy Bear!

Bear is a very nervous boy when he meets new people for the first time. It takes a little while for him to come around but with patience and yummy treats he slowly starts to trust you. Once he has gained your trust and is comfortable he is an affectionate boy and loves to give out kisses. He will need to have multiple regular meets before going home.

Bear is a big dog who doesn’t understand his size, he is constantly jumping up for cuddles and doesn’t know what personal space is. Bear is going to require a lot of training to help him learn manners. He can be a very cheeky boy at times! He will need socialising in different environments and around people to help him build his confidence up. Bear gets super excited when going for walks and is very strong on the lead, this is another area that will need more training. Bear loves playing with his toys, splashing around in water and zooming around our enclosed area.

Bear is after an adult only home that has previous experience with big boisterous dogs. No regular visiting children either please. He is going to need a very active home with a family that is able to provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him busy. As he is still only a young dog he can get up to mischief when he is bored. Bear’s new family need to be committed to putting in the training that he needs not only initially but keeping it up for the rest of his life.

Bear needs to be the only dog in the home so that he can have all of attention to help get him settled. Bear can interact well with dogs whilst out on walks but will need further training to help improve this.

We know that Bear is going to require a lot of work at first but once he is trained he will make a lovely family dog who will love going on plenty of adventures. Taking on a dog this size is a big commitment, please ensure that you are serious and have thought about the future before applying.

No cats for Bear please.

Please do not apply for a dog if you have a holiday booked within the next 3  months.

*Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge
