This lovely boy is Duke!  He is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can truly thrive.  When he first came into us he was very nervous, but given the time and space to build trust his friendly and affectionate nature shines through.  He can be quite vocal and will bark to let you know when he’d like some attention.  When he gets over excited or over stimulated he can become a little mouthy, so he will need owners who can calmly redirect this behaviour and continue his training and socialisation.  He already know some basic commands and is eager to engage.  Being a large, strong boy, he does pull on the lead, so he will benefit from ongoing lead training and someone confident enough to manage his strength.  He is currently unsure around other dogs and would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where his new adopter can continue his socialisation with other dogs in a controlled environment with lots of positive reinforcement.  This handsome lad is looking for an active home, that can provide patience, consistency and plenty of exercise and mental enrichment.  He will need a private secure garden.

As he came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.
