Meet the beautiful Alfie! When Alfie came into us as a stray he was suffering with severe dental disease and had to have an urgent dental to remove most of his teeth. After his operation he went on foster with one of our lovely volunteers so he could recuperate in comfort. Here is what his fosterer has to say about this gorgeous boy :
Alfie is a very distinguished, mature gentleman and he has been the absolute perfect house guest. He can be a little reserved initially, but once he feels relaxed in your company, he’s a very sweet companion. In the home he is very interested in everything you do and can become a little shadow, but he’s always very polite and respectful … always waits to being invited onto the couch, and is happy to settle and snuggle against you. After a couple of little embarrassing accidents the first night, Alfie soon got into the habit of toileting outside. He must have a magic bladder as he sleeps through and loves to have a lie in. He has no interest in the stairs and has been happily sleeping in his own bed downstairs. He is perfect to handle, loved his bath, and even laid down in the bath and thoroughly enjoyed the pampering. He isn’t particularly interested in toys yet, but he has had a lot to contend with following his dental surgery leaving him with just 2 teeth! Overall, he’s a very calm pup, until he sees his harness and lead, which means walkies! Alfie loves his walks, and struts perfectly on his lead. Nothing seems to spook him. He doesn’t react to other dogs, he would rather just walk past them. As he isn’t really interested in other dogs, we would like him to be the only dog in the home. Overall Alfie is a lovely companion, very loyal and loving, polite and respectful. He would love a nice calm retirement home where he can share walks and sofa time. Because he is a little shy/reserved he would be best in a home where any children are 12+ years. He really is a little gem.
No cats for him due to his breed.
If you have a holiday booked in the next 3 months please wait until you return to apply for a dog.
