Introducing the very handsome Yoda! At approximately 12 months old, Yoda is a French Bulldog who came to us as a stray back in April and was sadly never claimed.
Yoda is a very sweet, affectionate, young man with a number of typical Frenchie characteristics; energetic, playful, mischievous and loyal, sometimes to the point of being protective. Yoda thrives on human interaction and companionship and has become a firm favourite with staff and volunteers. However, during his time with us what has become apparent is his total lack of socialisation, subsequently he struggles to cope when out and about. He can be wary of strangers, fearful of loud noises, bikes, buggies, even plastic bags and has no clue how to react and respond to to other dogs, resulting in lunging and barking. This being the case Yoda needs to be the only dog in the household.
Staff have initiated socialisation and basic training with Yoda who is both intelligent and willing to learn. However in the busy, noisy, kennel environment there are too many stress related distractions, preventing him from reaching his full potential. Therefore we are looking for a very specific, supportive new home for Yoda, where ideally his new owners will have extensive breed related knowledge and experience, and a commitment to appropriate ongoing training and socialisation.
We feel Yoda would be best suited to a calm, adult only household, where the whole family will consistently present as a collective in addressing his specific training needs.
If you fit Yoda’s specific criteria and are able to offer him his special home where he can thrive and become the best he can be, please complete an online application form.
Yoda will be waiting as patiently as he can be. Thank you.
