Meet Maximums a gentle, affectionate 1 year old cross breed who came into our care as a stray. On arrival Maximus straight away warmed to the staff members and was happy to have a fuss from them. He is a very polite and well mannered boy around people and knows quite a few commands such as ‘sit’, ‘paw’, ‘come’, he gives up toys and also knows his name. He is also happy to be groomed and likes getting scratches.
Maximus has been paired with many dogs both male and female he usually gets along with the girls more but is also happy to walk with the boys once he trusts them so he will need someone to continue his socialisation with other dogs and people. He is very food motivated and easily corrected when you offer a treat which shows he is eager to learn new things and ongoing training.
Maximus will suit a home where he is the only pet so he can get all the attention and training needed. This home will need to be adult only new owners having experience in socialising dogs would be preferred as this is a priority for Maximus. The new owners will need to commit to more than just one visit for Max as he will need time to form a bond.
