Introducing Lucia, a female Shar Pei who arrived into our care as a stray.
On arrival, Lucia was nervous around new people and intimidated by the kennel environment but over time she has overcome these fears and is now comfortable around the staff her who she meets daily.
Lucia loves to spend time outside of the kennel and thoroughly enjoys her daily walks. She has had the opportunity to meet some of our other dogs when outside and has been ok when interacting although doesn’t like it if they get too intrusive and boisterous. Lucia can be very strong when she pulls on the lead which is something her new owners will need to be mindful of. We are currently training Lucia to walk on a Halti as this is something that will benefit her on future walks.
Lucia is looking for an experienced dog owner with knowledge of the Shar Pei breed with no children in the household under 16 years.
Due to her nervous behaviour on arrival, she may require more than one visit before the adoption can take place.
